Key learning outcomes
|
The graduates prove knowledge and understanding of the theoretical, interpretative and musicological concepts and methods, knowledge and understanding of all the music genres and their evolution, genre overlaps and postmodern combinations, both in the field of theoretical reflection and practical grasp. The graduates will acquire a basic knowledge of music history and its current state of knowledge, as well as the methodology of today's concept of music history. They are able to carry out a production assessment of a specified composition with analytical elements or conclusions; they perform instrumental and vocal compositions of intermediate and upper-intermediate difficulty. They are able to take a critical attitude towards the interpretative and compositional creations of a different style and genre focus, and they express their aesthetic and sociological impact. They carry out the educational and other music popularization activities for the widest possible public. They are able to independently search for important information relating to the examined issues, to study professional literature, to interpret it and apply it on the solution to the chosen topic from the field of organization of a musical life, to draw up a more extensive skilled text. On the basis of apperception of musical creations there form professional and taste attitudes that continually develop and form in confrontation with the position of the teachers and classmates. On the ground of above-mentioned process they are able to express their own opinion and apply it on the solution of a musical theoretical or praxeological problem. The graduates are able to assess their communication disposition and develop their communication skills, use the principles of voice technology and means of nonverbal communication, to collect and critically analyse information in team, to formulate arguments and publicly present, to evaluate teamwork. They are able to formulate and modify their professional communication according to the situation and focus. They have competence in one of four offered foreign languages on the level B2. They are able to publish music information in media.

Profile of the programme
|
This study programme is designed as an academic one. It consists of blocks of theoretical courses dealing with the field of music theory, harmony and history of music. At the same time, it comprises a block/blocks of courses focusing on exploiting theoretical background in practice and on acquiring skills that the graduate can apply in various positions, for example, a worker for leisure activities or preparation of music profession. The programme also includes practical training/study mobility/internship. This study programme is designed to equip the future graduate with theoretical background and skills necessary for study in a follow-up Master's study programme in a related field of study, namely teacher of music. In addition, after successfully completing this study programme, the graduate can apply for positions in various fields, such as a worker for leisure activities, a worker at the administrative and cultural institutions
